Ian grew up in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. From an early age he loved to draw and create things with his hands. While attending the University of Washington, Ian studied Environmental Anthropology learning about the environmental impacts of buildings and their contribution to energy consumption and global warming. This encouraged him to use his ability to communicate through drawing and pursue the dual degree program in Architecture and Construction Management. After graduating in 2009, Ian hired on with Turner Construction Company, where he worked as a commercial construction Project Manager. After six years Ian left Turner and started his own design build construction company, Celestine Construction. During his four years as a sole proprietor, he met Tim and they began to collaborate on projects, eventually deciding to form HUB Construction Group in 2017. Ian now lives in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle with his wife, two young boys, and 2 dogs..

Tim grew up on the east coast just outside of Portland, ME. With a passion for art, design and working with his hands he went on to attend Hobart & Williams Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. Tim went on to earn a degree in Architectural Studies while also participating in several furniture making studios. After graduating in 2006, looking for an opportunity to learn how to build and start a new chapter in life, he decided to move across the country to Seattle, WA with his now wife, Quinn. In 2011, Tim started his own design build company, Apuzzo Construction LLC, and shortly after met Ian Hamm who was travelling a similar path. They started collaborating and quickly realized how well their skill sets complement one another and eventually teamed to form HUB Construction Group in 2017. Tim now calls the Pacific Northwest home and lives in the Greenlake neighborhood with his wife and two boys.
Our Story
Ian and Tim have used their education in architecture, background in construction management, and hands-on experience building to create a company that people can trust to provide a high-quality construction project from start to finish.
In 2013, Seattle native Ian Hamm and east coaster Tim Apuzzo crossed paths on the job while both running their own design build construction companies and quickly started collaborating. After four years working together to design and build various projects, they decided to join forces. In 2017, they founded HUB Construction Group and over time have established a talented group of carpenters and tradespeople that share a passion for building and take great pride in what they do. Today HUB continues to build high performing environmentally conscious homes and commercial spaces throughout the greater Seattle area.
